Moyo Crafts: hand-crafted in the Scottish Borders by Munyaradzi Lloidy Jeche

My name is Lloidy & I am from Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe.

I started stone sculpting in 2000 & bead sculpting in 2003. I am a self-taught artist. My colourful & fun glass bead & wire sculptures are inspired mainly by the African bush but also from everyday life too. I am from the Shona tribe & my stone-work is Shona sculpture, which is a tradition of my people for many generations. Carving is a spiritual process for me & I like to speak to my stones when I am carving.
My art is called Moyo Crafts because Moyo is my totem (clan). Moyo is a Shona word meaning heart. My pieces are heart crafts because they come from spiritual meditation.

I hope you enjoy my artworks. One love & Jah bless, Lloidy
